Situation:
A ridge of high pressure over the North Island moves away to the northeast on
Friday with a front crossing the area at night. A ridge extends over the North
Island on Xmas day, then moves away to the northeast on Sunday, with northerlies
strengthening over the region.
Forecast issued at 1108hrs Thursday 23-Dec-2010
Valid to midnight Friday for Inshore waters from Matakana Island to Mayor Island
to Motiti Island and then east to Torere River mouth.

Southwest 15 knots easing to 10 knots by midday, then tending northerly 15 knots
early afternoon. Changing westerly 10 knots tonight.

Friday:
Westerly 10 knots, rising to northwest 15 knots late morning then to 20 knots
gusting 30 knots late afternoon. Changing southwest 20 knots in the evening.
